Technology

Ok, let me start by saying that I don't have cable at my place. Not only do I not have cable, but I do not have any TV at all. Nope, no local channels.

I also do not have internet.

I also do not have an iphone, nor a GPS, nor NetFlix, nor a Macbook, nor DVR, nor do I really know how to Tweet…but I stray from the point. (Although the point take here could be that I’m not up to date with technology. At all.)

But back to not having cable/TV or internet... What on earth do you do when you’re at home, Aleisha? This is a good question that you ask.

I play with my dog.

Even though I don’t get to watch TV at my own house, I still have my current favorite shows. Ones I like so much!  Ones I get to watch at other people’s houses. :)

So, in light of this, here are three entertaining links for you to enjoy, if you so choose. There is one link for each of my current favorite shows. (Sidenote: the links will be SO much funnier and more appreciated if you regularly watch the respective show as well. Just sayin’. I warned you.)

P.S.

In case you were wondering, with no TV or internet—NO, I do not get to check the current weather. Or the weather forecast. Ever.
Crazy, you say? Possibly.

Some mornings I choose an outfit then walk outside only to walk right back through the door and change. Some mornings I think I’m dressed appropriately for the day only to find out later that a snowstorm is coming through town mid-afternoon and my flip flops won’t do me much good… or that the high is supposed to by 93 and my sweater and scarf will keep me comfortable in my chilly office but it’s a less-than-practical option.

There is an obvious weakness in this system I have going on.

And I AM aware that when dangerous weather is headed my way, it’s best to know in advance and be prepared.  Yes.  But that’s what I have good technology-minded friends and family for! : )

However, one thing I do LOVE about not knowing the weather is that I’m constantly surprised! I love being in awe of what God has going on. And I love seeing him work all around us—even in the simple things like a weather forecast, that we so often take for granted.

Next time the weatherman gets something wrong (that will be sooner than later), don’t criticize them. Rather, praise our Lord for His uniqueness, His control, His timing, and His world.
