My Vision
I struggle with New Years resolutions... when I have tried them, I usually fail pretty fantastically after a few weeks of hard work. So my go-to disposition is not to have them at all. Reset buttons are beautiful, needed, sometimes clouded with nostalgia, and I AM grateful for them. However, culturally-pressured resolutions end up making me feel like a stagnant disappointment.
But this year is a little different! I'm not making any resolutions yet again... but I DO have plans in mind. I have ideas for next year, trips to firm up, desires for who I want to be and become. Those things embody my own vision for myself. And may 2018 not only epitomize them, but make them a way of living.

I am light
Have a heart that is wide open.
➼ Be present.
With people. Without distraction.
Be grounded in where I am. Be founded in who I am
➼ Listen to understand, instead of listening to respond.
May I surround myself with similar things and like-minded people who will help me materialize my vision. May I also surround myself with contrasting things so to have great appreciation for what I'm striving for and so my own light can light another.
And may You, oh God, be my heart's greatest desire.

more love, less fear.
more reading, less scrolling.
more social, less media.
more community, less competition.
more celebrating, less comparing.
more prayer, less self-pity.
more outdoors, less screens.
more purpose, less deadlines.
more moments, less stuff.

It needs more women who live a brave vulnerability." -- Ann Voskamp

➼ May I be a strong woman who is courageous enough to be vulnerable -- more open with those around me, accessible and unguarded with my dearest friends, intimate with my husband.
➼ I want to FEEL more.
I desire to do more things that bring the following feelings to life,
for these are who I am:

I am calm
I am confident
I respond
I am not reactive
I am kind
I have energy
I am fun
I am inclusive
I am grounded
I am joyful
I am flexible
I am intentional I am light
➼ In the latter 3-4 months of 2017, I slowed my life way down. Intentionally. I loved doing that(even though the process of slowing down isn't easy!) and I LOVE living that way for now; however, my discovered danger in this area is that I can too easily become disengaged because of my simplicity. So may I be slow and purposeful, engaged in my people and my actions, and simple in my way of living.
