Happenings

Well, I'll try to wrap up some of the other things I did in Brazil...

We went to this Football Museum one day and it was awesome!  It was really high tech and interesting and all sorts of things to see about football, history of football, World Cup, Brazilian players, etc.  I really enjoyed it. At one point, you could kick a ball into a digital wall with the net and a goalie and if you make the goal there's a big 'GOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!'
Ok.  I am not very athletic nor can I kick a ball with accuracy....tennis is about the extent of my sport-playing and that requires no kicking (if you weren't aware).  Even so I stepped up to the plate (why am I talking in baseball terms??) and prepared to make a fool out of myself in front of all these Brazilians who I'm sure have kicked balls from birth.
Aaaaand.....I made a 'GOOOOL'!

Then my friend Leandro got up there and got ready to try the same thing. He totally missed. Baha. Oops, so sorry that I made mine! :)

We also went to a gorgeous park one day and I so loved it!  It was absolutely massive and peaceful and, well look below, so pretty!

And right by the park though was this shot of the TRAFFIC!!!

I would get sooo impatient in that!!

We also went and visited an orphanage one day. I feel in love with these sweet kids:

Other things we did...of course I ate at a Churrascaria!!  So good and just as I remembered :) I absolutely refuse to eat at one of these in America.  Also, I think it's funny that I'm considered "blonde" in Brazil--in America, my hair is a light brown at best...but everyone is so dark there that I'm definintely the blonde girl! They have an urban legend that's about a blonde ghost girl who lives in the bathroom. Someone told me once that they thought I was the "blonde girl of the bathroom" in real life.  Haha, I guess I'll take that as a compliment?
Also, I did get a free laser treatment as a spa-type place with my girlfriends one evening. You'll have to ask me about that story in person!  It's better that way.

The day we were coming back from Rio, both girls (myself and Priscila) and both boys (Thiago and Leandro) accidentally dressed the same. So, we decided we were a band. It's the logical thing to do when you all are dressed similar...of course it is. You start a band. So here is a picture that will be the cover of our first CD:

One more thing and I'll about wrap up my trip...when we went to 25 de Marco street, it's this big and popular street full of little shops and vendors! Just my style--I LOVE markets. Anyway, there were SO many people there yet my friends were telling me how much I stood out in the crowd, being American. So I was like ok--we'll just see about this. Let's play Where's Waldo?!
Thus, Aleisha became Waldo and I went on ahead into the crowd...you have to find me!

Ok, I guess it's not that difficult...but I had fun playing Where's La Gringa?.
It's entertaining, you have to admit.

I miss my Brazil trip!
