Old and un-cool

Well, several things…

First of all, Zach graduated!!!

He's so old. 
Which really means that I’m so old. AND I’m about to be a quarter-of-a-century. I already go to bed regularly at 10, have frequent forgetfulness, am conscious of occasional back aches (maybe it’s just my body saying I need a good massage…: )), and think ‘tsk tsk’ to myself when observing typical teenage behavior. Does it only get worse from here?!!

Anyway, Zach will be headed to Oklahoma Christian in the fall and I couldn’t be more excited for him! I will send my brother off with these words: (quoted lyrics, yet a perfect fit to what my heart says to him)

“Be strong in the Lord and,

Never give up hope,

You're going to do great things,

I already know.

God's got His hand on you so,

Don't live life in fear,

Forgive and forget,

But don't forget why you're here.

Take your time and pray,

These are the words I would say.”

Moving on…
I recently won an 80’s dress up contest at work! Woo!

I found that sweet jacket at a thrift store. It was a good purchase. But tt was really the roller skates that put me over the edge… and I work on the 3rd floor of my building and normally always take the stairs. However, not that day!! I would have crashed and burned.
My boss also relayed to me that I would get NO workers comp if I hurt myself that day ;)

I didn’t ever fall…but I found out that I’m not such a great skater and I’m even worse on carpet (but my legs got a good workout!) and on parking lot gravel.

Needless to say, I never worked at Sonic…

Additionally, I have some recent addictions.
These addictions would include: racquetball, whiffleball, cranberry juice, and Pandora.

I really have no comments on cranberry juice. I drink about a liter a week. It’s an expensive habit.
I really have no comments for Pandora either. I’m always behind the times and have recently experienced the wonders of this invention.
However, I CAN comment on racquetball and whiffleball. They are un-cool. And I love them!

(don’t you just wish that I played racquetball Matrix-style and that I dressed up like a chicken for whiffleball… I wish, too.)

I think God blesses the un-cool. : ) I’m perfectly fine being in this category.
