reminder

i'm sitting in Sachse, TX (outside Dallas) freezing my little toushy off...no no no, it's not cold in dallas tx in the middle of august.  it's terribly hot--mostly because of the humidity.  but inside, it's terribly cold.  i guess these people feel the need to compensate for the weather by keeping it about 52 degrees indoors.  let me tell you--this is not the way to handle hot weather.  i appreciate air conditioning, however i would much more appreciate 70 degree air conditioning and a nice glass of lemonade.  an indoor-52-degree-continual-goose-bump-creating-environment is no place for Aleisha.

anyway, i'm sitting in this environment obverving software installation and go live, and i get a message from a good and dear friend.  it was just the reminder i needed for the day, and bless her for blessing me with it!

"For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!"  2 Corinthians 4:17

or, NIV version:
"For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all."

How encouraging!  No matter how busy our lives get or how stressed out we are or how much we feel we are wronged by others, our ultimate purpose on earth is to glorify our Father--and for that, we get to spend an eternity NOT worrying about the 'little things'!

i'm very blessed with endearing and supportive friends and i'm thankful for that.

i'm also thankful for dark chocolate and I Love Lucy.
